No More Contracts!

Lots of things are changing around here for me. I’m getting married in June, taking possession of a house around the same time and this past week I also accepted a full-time position with my current employer, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO). I’ve been in St. Catharines for almost two years now, and I’ve been on 6-month contract after 6-month contract with the MTO the entire time. Fortunately, this past week interviews were held for a full-time position and I was the successful candidate. I’m now a Senior Technical Consultant specializing in IT Security.
Finally! Benefits, paid holidays and 3 weeks of paid vacation each year. Of course my pay will go down slightly in the short-term, but in the long run it’s definitely worth it.
Now I just have to cross my fingers that our union doesn’t go on strike in the next couple of months…
