Meet Oliver Kirk!

I’ve had a busy few days and I still owe all of you a post about my recent vacation to Nova Scotia. However, today I just wanted to introduce you to the latest member of my family…
Meet Oliver Kirk, affectionately known as “Ollie”. He’s a 3 month old Red Dachshund (aka “weiner dog”). Alicia and I picked him up yesterday from a breeder near St. Catharines that we’ve been speaking with on and off for a couple of months.
You see, Ollie, was the star of their last litter and the breeder had originally intended on keeping him because he’s so calm and attentive (highly trainable). However, at the last moment they decided to part with the little guy since they already have several obedience dogs. As a result, I lucked out and Alicia and I got a fantastic doggie!!
Ollie’s a touch on the shy side and he doesn’t like it when Daddy leaves him (or even looks away from him) for more than 5 seconds. He has a good whimper. Today he’s warmed up to Alicia too and enjoys laying up with us on the couch while we watch television.
