Alicia is Back Together with Link.

I decided to surprise Alicia with a present this past weekend, so I stopped at BestBuy in Erie, PA on Friday evening and picked up a Nintendo Gamecube for her. She’s a nut for the Zelda-series of games, so the Gamecube was especially attractive to her. I picked her up a copy of “Zelda: The Wind Wakers” along with the GC so she was good to go. Needless to say she was excited about being reunited with her man Link (the heroic male character in the Zelda games). We then ran out the next day and picked up an extra controller and a couple of additional games (MarioCart and Super Smash Bros). So as you can imagine we had some fun playing video games over the weekend. I think she’s addicted to Zelda already (again). :grinning:

We also dusted off our golf clubs and decided to give that sport a try again. It’s been about 7-8 years since I last swung a golf club and about 5 for Alicia so we knew that our first time out was not going to be pretty. We played 9 holes on Saturday and 9 holes on Sunday and we had a lot of fun. We didn’t play great by any stretch of the imagination but I think we made enough decent shots to want to go back for more. The highlights of the weekend were Alicia’s beautiful drive on a 130 yard par 3 where she placed the ball on the corner of the green and I actually did (somehow) manage to birdie a par 5 by stringing together four shots that I probably couldn’t repeat again if I tried.

Are we going to keep at it? Yessir. We both ended up a little bit sore, I got a bad blister on my right hand and we both lost more than a few golf balls but we had a whole lot of fun and that’s all that matters.
