Do Not Bother With Weather Forecasts

Listen to the meteorologists no longer folks. If you really want 100% certainty in your weather forcasting, just ask me where I’ll be travelling to and when I’ll be on the road. Once you have that information, you can guarantee that it will snow along that route on that particular day.
Yesterday’s drive from St. Catharines to Columbus, Ohio was nothing short of exhausting. I got an early start and projected that I’d arrive in Columbus around 7:30PM. I was making fantastic time until I hit Cleveland and merged onto I-271. It was at this point that I travelled about 10 miles in an hour and a half. Once I was South of Cleveland and got on I-71… I assumed that the weather would only get better since I was moving away from Cleveland and the lake. Unfortunately, I was very wrong… it got significantly worse the closer I got to Columbus. When the roads weren’t snow-covered, they were a sheet of ice. There was a point when traffic finally let up a little bit that I was able to get up to a reasonable speed (say 50-55MPH) and I was cruising along in 4th gear and I tapped the gas and lost complete traction on the front-end of the vehicle. That my friends, is slippery.
Anyways, the 4.5 - 5 hour trip turned into an 8 hour journey but I did slide into Columbus safely. Hopefully they’ll have this all cleaned up by tomorrow morning when I drive back up I-71 and onto I-76 over towards Alicia in Pennsylvania.
