Fantasy Football Crazy!
Published:
As I’m sure any sports fan will be aware of, NFL Football is upon us again. This year, for some reason, I decided to sign up for a Fantasy Football league over at Sandbox with some of the characters from my previous place of employment.
It’s important to note that this is my first fantasy sports league experience, so I wasn’t sure how I was going to react. Up until our “draft”, I was sort of aloof to the whole idea. However, once my roster was in place, I became pretty darn keen on the whole process.
I ended up scoring players like Peyton Manning, Tommy Maddox, Ricky Williams, Marshall Faulk, Randy Moss and Simeon Rice just to name a few. Needless to say, I had a pretty solid draft.
Now I’m spending a lot of time analyzing weekly matchups and past statistics to form my weekly starting lineup (20 people on the roster, 11 weekly starters). I’m also trying to work out a trade for another Running Back. It’s pretty cool, but I’m discovering that I’m so damn competitive that I’m definitely over-analyzing a lot of the management decisions. Eventually, I’m hoping I just chill out and let the wins come to me. We’ll have to see how it goes.
I did win my first head-to-head matchup in Week #1, so I’m already eager for Week #2 to start so I can get back to refreshing box scores between quarters to see how I’m doing. Sigh!
