Life With Allergies!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been suffering from allergy problems since my move into the Niagara Region (St. Catharines, ON). I tried the over-the-counter medications and experienced mixed results. They’d generally work well for the first day or so and then I’d go back to my suffering, which sucks because it’s impacting my ability to sleep through the night.

Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment and my new doc put me on some prescription medication to get all of this in check. A nasal spray to use twice a day (Nasonex) and also a daily dosage of Clarinex. We’ll see how it works out. We’re almost through the worst of the allergy season anyways, so hopefully I’ll be back to normal one way or another in the near future.

This past weekend I didn’t have much to do. Alicia was having some friends from school over for the weekend so I decided to stay out of the way and just chill at home. I got out on Saturday and Sunday and played some basketball which was nice. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of shooting a basketball, for me. It just feels comfortable and right. It was great to get out and get a little sweat going for the first time in a long time.

I’m obviously back at work this week and everything just continues to roll along. I’m quite comfortable here and I’ve progressed beyond the “new guy” feel. It’s all good.

This weekend my buddy Erle will be driving down from Ottawa to hang out. We’ll probably shop, eat, hit the movies, visit with Jamie and Shannon in Hamilton and what not. Pretty relaxed. Alicia hasn’t met Erle yet, so we’re hoping that she’s able to come up and spend the weekend with us too.
